Miriam Smirnov

Lead Boston Coach

Miriam began training in taekwondo in 1998 and, with brief pauses to raise her children, has been training ever since. She earned her black belt in American Te, an MMA style rooted in Shotokan and Okinawan karate, and has also developed skills in Uechi Ryu, Krav Maga, and weapons such as bokken/katana, sais, bo, and escrima. For the past three years, she has competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. Miriam loves martial arts for the strategy, the physical strength, and the empowerment that come with being able to navigate the world with confidence. She is proud to share these skills and experiences with others.
